Random Things

We were running errands the other day- and as always- Jonathan's court times were right in the middle of the day, so Emily and I went with him and walked outside while we waited.  I think Emily had a blast.  She waved at every cop that drove up, we chased after a blowing leaf,  and we touched all the flowers and plants along the sidewalk.

Emily has now started to point at things.  Her favorite thing to point at is the lights and she always gets a huge smile when I tell her what it's called.

I've been trying to teach her the sign for all done, so that hopefully it will be easier at mealtimes.  Instead she just waves back at me every time I do the sign.

The weather is perfect here right now, and since Emily loves to be outside, we sit our on the porch 4-5 times a day and just watch all the cars go by.  Emily also waves at them and points at the ones going up the hill.

Emily is officially walking.

This girl knows no fear.  She likes to help me with laundry and has figured out how to close the dryer.  She has slammed her finger in it a couple times and still tries to close it.  She also refuses to sit in the tub and while I hold her when she stands, she still manages to fall and hit her head, yet she still continues to stand.

She has discovered that she can now put things into baskets and not just take them out.  I'm not sure which is better. Having things thrown around her room or having everything that she can carry being smushed into one tiny little basket.

She always wants to be where Jonathan is.  If he is in the bedroom sleeping, she'll bang on the door.  If he is in the bathroom, she'll try and reach her little fingers under the door and bang on it until he comes out.

She has a gross fascination with feet and toes.  She thinks it's funny when you wiggle your toes and then she always tries to kiss them.  Disgusting.

She also likes shoes.  She is constantly putting things in Jonathan's work boots.  The last couple ones have been a plastic cup and a set of keys.  You never know what you're going to get.

Jonathan was working out yesterday and Emily thought it was the funniest thing.  He was doing sit ups and she would laugh every time he did one.  Then when he stopped, she bent over and tried to pull him up.  When he sat up, she pushed him down again.  Apparently she thought he needed to do more.

Well, they pushed our move in date for our house back almost a month.  Our new date is October 24.  We're hoping they'll be done before this though!
