Police Training

Jonathan has been busy this week with Madison County Police Training. On Monday he had to be certified in pepper spray and taser. He was excited for this and had been looking forward to it for awhile, but once the day came he was more nervous than excited! They didn't spray or taser him until after lunch, so he had to wait hours knowing that it was coming. I think that they tased him first, and he said that it actually wasn't that bad (although he was sore the next morning), but he said that the pepper spray was the worst! They sprayed him and then had him open his eyes and wrestling with a guy for 90 sec. After that they poured milk into his eye to help get rid of the burn and he also had to dunk his head in a bucket of ice cold water a couple times and rinse it out with a hose. After all that and several hours later, his eye was still burning and red. Apparently it affects fair-skinned people the most, which wasn't too good for him!! A couple of the other officers took a video and a couple of pictures so hopefully we will get them soon!!
